Lego Stop Motion Pictures, 'The Zombie', by .My Boy

The First Stop Motion Pictures

My boy is crazy about Lego stuff such as building bricks, watching animation like Ninjago, Chima, Lego City and so on, playing with them, creating something new with his imagination, anything he can do with. Lego is his most favorite stuff nowadays.
One day he was searching and watching Lego Ninjago series on Youtube with my cell phone and ran to me and showed the Lego stop motion pictures. I thought it was good for him to watch and subscribed it. Since he watched a few of them, he became a big fan of it and watched them over and over again, especially weekends because it is rule to play with my cell phone only weekends. A few weeks later he wondered how to make it and wanted make a stop motion pictures by himself it it is possible. I thought it would never be happened until he grew up like 10 or 11 years old. However, I didn't want to let him down, so I taught him the basic of it because I made a few similar stuff when I was young as well. It were 'a rocket launch' and 'Road runner' to show a little characters were moving on the side of book as far as I remember. I drew a character on the side of book on each pages in a little different spot from previous page and then flipping pages faster and it looked like animation. I waved my bare hand and took a few pictures during it was changed its shape and explained him it looked like an animation or movie if each pictures were showed faster enough. That was it. After that, everything went back to normal as before.

Taught him the basic of stop motion pictures with waving hand.

About a month later on Sunday, he was playing with Lego as ordinary weekend and ran to me with big smiling face and shouted I made it. I checked my cell phone and he took a bunch of Lego pictures. It also had a story on it, 'The Zombie', a zombie cook was attacked by a good man and the angry zombie attacked a little boy to make him another zombie. Amazing!! I was so surprised that he took pictures like that and created a story. Mine didn't have such a story but a character moved from the side to side, that was it.

The Zombie

A Stop Motion Pictures
Executive Producer, Director, Story, Picture-taking : Mathew Park
Animator : Jae Park
I animated as my boy wanted and told me one more thing while we were watching it together. At the end the boy's face changed to different color and this was the proof of becoming zombie. I was shocked that he had thought about such a detail.

Never found before he told me.

I hope he keeps his interest in anything he wants and having such a strong driving force.
Sonny, I will be always with you!!

A lovely toy poodle, Mong, member of our family

My Toy Poodle

I adopted 2 months old a toy poodle last year. She came with her brother puppy, but we couldn't get two dogs at a time. Fortunately my cousin adopted him and we felt better for him. My cousin uploads his pictures and tells us about how he is doing.
Our toy poodle was named Blacky at that time, but my boy finally decided Mong from several names. Now she has potty trained well and no more trouble but a couch digging. Lol.

A cute little dog. we love you so much.

After potty training, she got the reward of chewing snack.
We were proud of you.
Well done, Mong!!

Became a grown girl, Mong.
She isn't look like toy poodle as we expected.
Whoever you are, you are in our family and love you so much!

Real summer with singing cicadas

Singing Cicadas

After a few days of rainy day, real summer has started.
Cicadas(balm cricket) are singing all over the trees day and night. In the insect world it is known as the loudest song. Sound in city is louder because they are trying to sing louder if there are moving cars. Few natural enemies such as frogs, spiders, grasshoppers, etc makes a large numbers of cicada in the same area and lights makes them to sing even at night. Some times it wakes me in the middle of night and heard that it went up more than 90 db in Seoul.
Nothing I can do about it but enjoying.

I found cicadas even at the rooftop garden on 14 stories building.
Amazing!!

Children's Favorite Animation Character in Korea 'Pororo'

Toddler's the Most Favorite Penguin

It was his favorite animation character, a little penguin Pororo, when he was a child and stories were about friendship with other characters, Poby, Petty, Loopy, Eddy, and Crong in snowy land. I was a kind of like it as well because it was nonviolent animation. It is sad I didn't take pictures while he played with it. I believe it is still so popular and am told that programs are airs on Australian, French, Italian, Taiwanese, Chinese, Indian, Puerto Rican, and Singaporean channels.

The main character is called the Porosident or PoroGod.
Pororo

I think he made it with clay at the daycare centre.

Theater for the Rabbit and Turtle Racing Story

My Boy's Paper Theater

Found a cardboard theater for the 'Rabbit and turtle story' on shelve.
He made it on his art class and brought home a couple of months ago.
I remember he played it on the back with story and told me about what was the instructive.

His teacher instructed front and back only.

But he added up some decorations of his favorite heart on both sides.
Well done!!

When he finished about story and instructive, I added up 'be smart'.

My boy's MacBook

Hand-made MacBook

I know my son wanted to have notebook, but he is just 7 years old.
No Way!!

One day he told me he got a notebook and showed me from his back.
Wow, it was built by himself and looked like it is the thinnest MacBook in the world with the highest performance!! Portable, light weight, no electric power needed, slide unlock feature in like iPhone, and three languages key pad, etc.
Heard that his friend made something similar before. I thought it was IBM note book.
He envied him and upgraded and wanted have different one.
Wow :)
I was so surprised. He made his fingers V sign with big smile! ^^v I should have taken his picture at that time.

Front - Apple Logo with leaf in Korean
Slide unlock (Secret ---> End)
Back - His Big Smile Logo

Many Features I never imagined!!
Unfortunately I don't remember all.
Got to ask him later!!

Feature detail will be unveiled soon.

It was his own works but covering white paper on cardboard and the idea of magnetic latch.

Take a walk on the riverside with my son

Han River, Seoul, Korea

I live in the riverside of Seoul.
My son, my dog and I went out to take a walk and it was hot summer day as usual, but a bit cloudy. What a good day to enjoy Sunday afternoon with my boy!!!
It has been 4 years since I went there with him and reminded me when he was 3.
It was not that crowded as early morning or evening.
Sonny, let's have fun!! :)

Go on! I'll catch up!!

Found some trash on the river and told me a good man should haven't done it.
Sometimes he tries to teach me how the good man should do. LOL. :)
My dog, Mong, was watching river and barking at something.
Have you found something strange, too?

I could feel how much she was scared outside because a strap was shaky when she saw some dogs or people were passing by her. No worries, we were here for ya.

Yeah, right. You are a dog. Please, don't sniff around too much.
It was the first time for her to walk around riverside.
Well, I was expecting to much for her?

You were here with me once. Remember?
I will find the picture with you 4 years ago!!

Public excise machines.
Wow, Getting stronger!
I didn't understand why I wanted to do something different when I was young,
but it was just fun. Well you are my son. LOL.
Just following instruction is not fun. eh.
Korean says blood is thicker than water which means like father, like son.

LOL  ^o^

He found a ferry that he could take 2 years ago on the birthday of his grandma.
Unfortunately ticket was sold out a few people in front of us.
He remembered it and forced me to take it this summer.
Okay!! As you wish, my load.
But I was a kind of hard to find it.
Wonder how he found out and must have eyes like 6 million dollar man or superman.

And wanted go check a little island in the middle of Han river.
I knew there were some people lived back in 60's, but nobody is there except birds.
Well, maybe later if law is changed.

If there is some strange thing, he got to check by himself.

Checking Yuido, another island filled with high raised building now and asked me many things about it because I told him there was an airport until 1968.
I thought I need to study again to fill his curiosity.
It had been almost 2 hours and time to go back, sonny!!

Good!! You are getting better to take care of Mong.

While we were walking and he asked me to take some pictures of flowers.
Now I got ya!

Tada !!!
Present for Mom...

It was not an easy trip, but it ended up with happy boy and mother!!
What a day!!  :)
